8 Project description

Building a single berth to handle the berthing and unloading of ships from 150m to 200m LOA.

• Minimum displacement is 30,000 DWT up to a maximum of 65,000 DWT. The berth facilities include mooring dolphins, breasting dolphins and interconnecting walkways.

• The consortium philosophy was to perform all Fabrication works inside Egypt on the red sea cost and then transfer it across to the installation location, taking the advantage of having the nearest fabrication yard to the project location.

• PMS challenged The installation of One Offloading Platform 1100 Ton using float over method utilizing one of PMS material barges (PMS-46) to transport, float-over the preinstalled Piles and finally installed the Platform on the piles, for the first time to use this method in the middle east, (opposed to traditional derrick barge lift
